The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training has announced the calendar of paid public holidays for Cambodia in 2023
All workers of factories and enterprises as stated in Article 1 of the Labor Law are allowed to take paid time off as follows by the below calendar:
– 01 January – International New Year Day – One day
– 07 January – Victory over Genocide day – One day
– 08 March – International Women’s Day – One day
– 14, 15, 16 April – Khmer New Year Days – Three days
– 01 May – International Labor Day – One day
– 04 May – Visak Bochea – One day
– 08 May – Royal Plowing Ceremony – One day
– 14 May – King Sihamoni’s Birthday – One day
– 18 June – Queen Monineath’s Birthday – One day
– 24 September – Constitutional Day – One day
– 13, 14, 15 October – Pchum Ben Festival – Three days
– 15 – October – Respect the late King Father’s sprit – One day
– 29 – October – Coronation Day of King Sihamoni – One day
– 09 – November – National Independence Day – One day
– 26, 27, 28 November Water Festival Ceremony – Three days
For factories/ enterprises whose business cannot be stopped or must be operated regularly, and when all the workers and employers have holidays at the same time that could affect the public or factories/enterprises, the owners of the factories/enterprises must arrange the workers to take time off by taking turns for each holiday.
In the case that there is a consent between the concerned worker and the employer or as stated in the internal regulations of the factory, enterprise or collective agreement, the workers’ days off may be applied at any other time other than the holidays mentioned in this Prakas.
The owners of the factories/enterprises shall prepare a list of workers who are to take turns on each holiday and keep it for an inspection by the Labor Inspector.
During the days off, the owners of the factories/enterprise may temporarily assign otherworkers to replace the workers from days off.
