The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC) aims to strengthen and promote digital human resources through support and training programs from Korea Software Foundation, a press release of the MPTC said.
Presiding over the ‘11th Basic Training Course of Korea Software HRD (KSHRD) Center 2023’, Secretary of State of the MPTC So Visothy said, “The MPTC has a high responsibility for promoting the evolution of digital government and the digital capture of the ministries, institutions, the private sector, and society as a whole. As such, the ministry has focused on building human resources in the digital sector to strengthen the capacity of students from primary to higher education.”
The event was attended by leaders from the relevant ministries and members from the KSHRD Center, along with professors and students from 13 universities, including the representative of the technology and banking institutions.
A competition to select a top candidate and provide job opportunities to qualified students was the key purpose of the event. Nine groups of students were selected to present their projects, and the judging panel will select the top three finalists with the best performance.
The competition aimed at promoting new generation and making them enable to meet the needs of technology professionals.
In the past, the MPTC has initiated some programs at the primary and secondary levels such as Future Digital Talents, Technovation, Tech Awareness, Tech Adoption and Tech Competition.
The ministry aims to establish community technology centres for all high school students of all communes with fibre-optic cable and internet network infrastructure by 2027.
The ministry is currently preparing a joint roadmap for higher education training in response to the evolving trends of technology, both regionally and globally.
